The Topical approach–
During my acne journey, one of the most powerful things I learned was that healing requires a Holistic approach. DIY face masks became a turning point for me. In a season of frustration and self-doubt, turning to using natural ingredients like honey, turmeric, aloe vera, and yogurt, became more than just skincare, it became self-care.
I created gentle remedies that not only helped calm my skin but also gave me back a sense of control. In a time when I felt discouraged and defeated, these small steps reminded me that progress is possible. Healing takes time, but every step you take, no matter how small, moves you forward. Don’t give up on your skin. Don’t give up on you.
Here is a simple recipe that I followed almost daily as my bedtime routine.
2 tsp organic honey
2 tsp organic yogurt
Pinch of turmeric
Apply to clean dry face and leave it on for 20 minutes. Wash face with cold plain water and dab on non-comedogenic water-based moisturizer.
The Internal approach-
There was a time when I felt completely defeated by my skin. No matter what I tried, the breakouts kept coming and so did the frustration. But when I started focusing on healing from the inside, everything changed. I found that nourishing my skin from the inside out made a real difference—and that’s where DIY juices came in. Blending fresh fruits and vegetables gave my body a natural boost of vitamins and antioxidants that support clearer skin. Drinking them regularly made my skin feel less congested and gave me a natural glow over time.
Here is a simple recipe that I drank 3 times a week.
1 small beet root
1 large carrot
1 lemon
1 small orange
2 tsp or organic honey for added sweetness
1 tsp of organic Saigon cinnamon powder
